Hi! I'm Jeanna. I'm thrilled you're exploring Cowbell for your plant care needs. Nothing brings me more joy than helping you keep your plants alive especially when traveling!

I've loved nature and the ocean since before I can remember. Before immigrating to the US, I grew up without hot running water, which taught me to never take water for granted.

When my parents moved our family around the world from Shanghai to Michigan to California to Minnesota, the only thing that made me feel rooted was planting gardens and caring for the environment.

After graduating from MIT, a demanding Wall Street career had me traveling for months at a time, leaving my plants to fend for themselves in my NYC studio.

To keep my poor plants alive, I tried everything on the market but found nothing worked very well. Never one to give up, I finally DIY’d my own self-watering systems, and started collecting data on the hydration needs of hundreds of plant species in the process.

As more people became plant parents during the pandemic (many with not-so-green thumbs), I began thinking about how to take the stress out of plant care for others by bringing my inventions to market. The seed for Cowbell was planted.

In 2021, I left my 15-year corporate career and set out to invent a premium, self-watering product that could last over 2 weeks. Most importantly, I wanted to do it sustainably.

After years of R&D and product development, Cowbell was launched on a warm summer day in 2023!

I now dedicate all my time to growing Cowbell with primary operations in Miami and ancillary operations in Los Angeles and Austin. When not developing new products for Cowbell, I love volunteering, making music, and of course, traveling!

In 2026, with your help, we were able to adopt a coral nursery in the South Pacific to rehabilitate ocean life. I can't wait to travel to French Polynesia to plant baby coral and track their growth.
